There are 1200 employees in two different companies A and B and each company have two different departments – IT and HR. Total number of employees in company A is 500. 115 IT department employees from company B is female. The number of female employees from company B in HR department is 25% less than the number of female employees from A in IT department and 30 more than number of male employees from company A in HR department. Ratio of the number of male employees from company A in IT department to the number of female employees from A in HR department is 1: 2. Ratio of the number of male employees from B in IT department to the number of female employees from B in HR department is 5: 4. The number of male employees from B in HR department is 207.

(10)A bag A contains some quantity of sugar bag B contains 80 kg of salt. 20% of sugar from A is taken out and mixed with same quantity of salt from bag B. If the remaining quantity of salt in bag B is 70% of its actual
quantity, then what is the initial quantity of sugar in bag A?
a)120 kg
b)150 kg
c) 100 kg
d)90 kg
e)None of these

SOLUTION:

1.Let length of platform = t meters
Length of train A and train B is 8x and 7x
respectively.
Speed of train A and train B is 3y and 2y
respectively.
∴(t+ 8π‘₯/18)/(𝑑 + 7π‘₯/24)
= 3y/2y
⇒ π‘₯ = 𝑑
Required percentage π‘₯/8π‘₯× 100 = 12.5%

2. Let speed of boat in still water = x km/hr
And speed of current = y km/hr
ATQ,
x – y + x + y = 72
2x = 72
x = 36 km/hr
π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘ π‘₯– 𝑦 =
105/3.5
= 30 π‘˜π‘š⁄β„Žπ‘Ÿ
y = 6 km/hr
Downstream = x + y = 42 km/hr
𝑋 + 𝑦 =126/t
𝑑 =126/42= 3 β„Žπ‘œπ‘’π‘Ÿπ‘ .

5.
Let the three parts of the number are 'x', 'y' and 'z'
respectively.
Given that,
60% of x = (60% of y) - 9
3x/5 = (3y/5) - 9 ........... (1)
Also given that,
40% of y = (40% of z) + 16
2y/5 = (2z/5) + 16
2y = 2z + 80
y = z + 40 ............... (2)
From (1) and (2):
3x/5 = [3(z + 40)/5] - 9
3x = 3z + 120 - 45
3x = 3z + 75
x - z = 25
Difference between the first part and third part = 25

( 6 - 10 )

Number of female employee from A in IT department = x
Number of female employees from B in HR department = x * 75/100 = 3x/4
Number of male employees from A in HR department = 3x/4 – 30
Number of male employees from B in IT department = 5/4 * 3x/4 = 15x/16
Total number of employees = 1200,
Total number of employee in Company A = 500
Total number of employee in Company B
= Total number of employees – Total number of employee in Company A
= 1200 – 500 = 700
Number of female employees from company B from IT department = 115
The number of male employees from B in HR department = 207
15x/16 + 115 + 207 + 3x/4 = 700
27x/16 = 700 – 322
27x/16 = 378
x = 224
Number of female employee from A in IT department = x = 224
Number of female employees from B in HR department =3x/4 = 168
Number of male employees from A in HR department = 3x/4 – 30 = 138
Number of male employees from B in IT department = 15x/16 = 210
Ratio of the number of male employees from company A in IT department (P) to the number of female employees from A in HR department (Q)
= P/Q = 1: 2 –> (1)
Total number of employee in Company A = 500
P + 224 + 138 + Q = 500
P + Q = 500 – 362
P + Q = 138 –> (2)
On solving (1) and (2) => P = 46, Q = 96

6.Answer: C
Ratio of male person from HR department in company A to the male person from IT department in company
B=> 138 / 210 = 23: 35
7.Answer: A
Average = (46 + 210 + 138 + 207) / 4 = 601/2 = 300.50
8) Answer: B
50% of Female people only from HR department on both the companies are went for team lunch = 50% of (92 + 168)
= 50% of 260
= 130
Difference = 256 – 130 = 126
9) Answer: E
66.66% of Male person from HR department
= 2/3 of 345
= 230
Female person from both the department = 599
Sum = 599 + 230 = 829

(10)
Quantity of salt in bag B = 80 kg
Quantity of salt in mixture = (100 - 70)% of 80 = 24 kg
Then, quantity of sugar in mixture = 24 kg
Now, quantity of sugar in bag A = 24 x 100/20 = 120 kg
