Find the approximate value of x.
X= 81% of (√680 -√480) + 70% of (22.95+ 25.89)

1.  28
2.  31
3.  34
4.  38
5.  41
Incorrect
Explanation –
X= 81% of (√680 -√480) + 70% of (22.95+ 25.89)
81/100 × (26 – 22) + 70/100 × 48.84
81/100 × (4) + 34.2
3.24 + 34.2
= 37.44

Incorrect
Answer – 5) x = y or no relation can be established.
Explanation
X2-31x+238=0
X2-14x-17x+238=0
X(x-14)-17(x-14) =0
X=17, 14

Y2-28y+187=0
Y2-11y-17y+187=0
Y(y-11)-17(y-11)=0
Y=11,17

4. Question1 points

This question contains two sub- questions i.e., Quantity 1 and Quantity 2. Quantity 1 will be the answer of the first question and Quantity 2 will be the answer of second question. Compare the two quantities –
Quantity -1)Temple trust decides to build a worship hall having a carpet area of 300 square metres with its length one metre more than twice its breadth. What should be the breadth of the hall?
Quantity- 2) There are two numbers whose sum is 27 and product is 182. Find the smaller number?

3.  Quantity 1 < Quantity 2
4.  Quantity 1 ≤ Quantity 2
5.  Quantity 1 = Quantity 2 or no relation can be established.
Incorrect
Answer -3. Quantity 1 < Quantity 2
Q1 = 12
Q2 = 13
Explanation –
Q1 = 12
Let the breadth of the hall = x
Length of the hall well be 2x+1
(2x+1).x = 300
2x2+x = 300
2x2+x-300 = 0
2x2-24x+25x-300 = 0
2x(x-12) +25(x-12) = 0
X = 12, -12.5 (breadth cannot be negative)

Quantity 2=  13
Let the first number is x
Second number will be 27-x
X(27-x) = 182
X2 -27x+182 =0
X=13, 14

5. Question1 points
Category: Quantitative Aptitude
This consists of a question and two statements numbered 1 and 2 given below it. You have to decide if the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both statements and mark answer.
There are two bikes A and B which are 600km apart from each other. Find the distance between A and B at 11am.
Statement 1: Both the bikes started to move towards each other at 7am.
Statement 2: Speed of bike A is 40km/hr at 7am which decreases by 10% after every hour and speed of bike Q is 50km/ht at 7am which increases by 10% after every hour.

1.  The data in statement 1 alone is sufficient to answer the question while the data in statement 2 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
2.  The data in statement 2 alone is sufficient to answer the question while data in statement 1 alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
3.  The data either in statement 1 alone or in statement 2 alone is sufficient to answer the question.
4.  The data in both the statements 1 and 2 are not sufficient to answer the question.
5.  The data in both the statements 1 and 2 together are necessary to answer the question.

SOLUTIONS:

Explanation –
645+665+685+675+655 = 3325
20% of 3325 = 665

Explanation –
(655×24)/ (645×32) =( 655 × 3 )/ (645× 4) = (131 × 3) / ( 129 × 4) = 76 aprox

Explanation –
685 / 20% of (645+655+665+675) × 100 = 685/528 × 100 = 130%

Explanation –
20% / 8% = 5:2

Explanation –
K20+P30 for Durability = 16% of (665+675) = 16% of 1340
S10+V15 for Processor = 32% of (685+645) = 32% of 1330
32% of 1330 – 16% of 1340
= 211.2

6.Explanation –
X= 81% of (√680 -√480) + 70% of (22.95+ 25.89)
81/100 × (26 – 22) + 70/100 × 48.84
81/100 × (4) + 34.2
3.24 + 34.2
= 37.44

Explanation
40 ×1 =40
40 × ½ = 20
20 × 3 =60
60× ¼ = 15
15× 5 = 75
75 × 1/6 = 12.5

8.Answer – 5) x = y or no relation can be established.
Explanation
X2-31x+238=0
X2-14x-17x+238=0
X(x-14)-17(x-14) =0
X=17, 14

Y2-28y+187=0
Y2-11y-17y+187=0
Y(y-11)-17(y-11)=0
Y=11,17

9.Answer -3. Quantity 1 < Quantity 2
Q1 = 12
Q2 = 13
Explanation –
Q1 = 12
Let the breadth of the hall = x
Length of the hall well be 2x+1
(2x+1).x = 300
2x2+x = 300
2x2+x-300 = 0
2x2-24x+25x-300 = 0
2x(x-12) +25(x-12) = 0
X = 12, -12.5 (breadth cannot be negative)

Quantity 2=  13
Let the first number is x
Second number will be 27-x
X(27-x) = 182
X2 -27x+182 =0
X=13, 14

10.Answer -5) The data in both the statements 1 and 2 together are necessary to answer the question.
Explanation –
Statement 1 gives Direction in which bikes are moving.
Statement 2 gives Distance covered in that time.
Speed of bike A from 7am till 8am = 40km/hr
Speed of bike A from 8am till 9am = 40 × 9/10
Speed of bike A from 9am till 10am = 40 × 9/10 ×9/10
Speed of bike A from 10am till 11am = 40 × 9/10 ×9/10 × 9/10
Distance covered by bike A from 7am till 11am = 40[1+9/10 + (9/10)2 + (9/10)3] =137.56
Similarly, distance covered by bike B from 7am till 11am = 50[1 + 11/10 + (11/10)2 + (11/10)3] =232.05
Total distance covered till 11am = 137.56 + 232.05 = 369.61
Distance between A and B at 11am = 600-369.61 = 230.39
