Total workers in all four companies = 2000
Number of males in all four companies = 2000*(3/5) = 1200
Number of females in all four companies = 2000-1200 = 800
Total males in company P = 250
Total females in company P = Total workers – total male workers = 450 – 250 =200
The ratio of the number of female workers in company P, R, and S is 5:6:4
Let the number of female workers in company P, R and S are 5x, 6x and 4x respectively
5x = 200
x = 40
6x = 6*40 = 240
4x =4*40 = 160
Total females in Q = 800-(200+240+160) = 200
In company Q, male = female = 200
Let the number of males in company R and S are y and z respectively.
y + z = 1200 – (250+200) = 750 ………….(1)
also,
(y+240)/(z+160) = 3/2
2y = 3z (putting this in equation (1)
y+z = 750
2y+2z = 1500
3z+2z = 1500
z = 300
therefore, y = 450
