Army proposes 3-year stint for civilians under “Three-Year Short Service” Scheme

If this proposal gets approved, it will be a voluntary engagement and will not affect the current selection criteria.
ii.Initially, 100 officers and 1,000 men are being considered for recruitment.
iii.The proposal suggests several measures to incentivize this scheme like a tax-free income for 3 years.

Punjab govt promulgates ‘Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners Amendment Ordinance, 2020’

Punjab government (govt) promulgated ‘The Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Amendment Ordinance, 2020’. As per new provisions, the temporary release of the prisoners has been allowed beyond the maximum period of 16 weeks in a calendar year.
