1.  98
2.  40
3.  18
4.  27
5.  63

SOLUTIONS:

1.Answer: 3) 225
Explanation:
√(3249 ) + √2809 + √(? ) = 125
57 + 53 + √(? ) = 125
110 + √(? ) = 125
√(? ) = 15
?= 225

2.Answer: 1) 5
Explanation:
20% of √(24×10+7×6×5+175)
20% of √(240+210+175)
20% of √625
20% of 25
20/100* 25 =5

3.

4.Answer: 4. 168
Explanation:
1000 – 45 = -24
-24 + 44 = 232
232 – 43 = 168 (answer)
168 + 42 = 184
184 – 41 = 180

5.Answer: 5. x ≤ y
Explanation:
x2+30x+225 = 0
x2+15x + 15x +225 = 0
x(x+15) +15(x+15) = 0
x = -15, -15

y2+4x – 165 = 0
y2+ 15x-11x – 165 = 0
y(y+15) -11(y+15) = 0
y =11, -15

6.Answer: 3. x = y or relationship can’t be determined.
Explanation:
3x2-20x+25 = 0
3x2-15x-5x+25 = 0
3x(x-5) -5(x-5) = 0
x = 5/3, 5

5y2 – 32y + 35 = 0
5y2 – 25y-7y+ 35 = 0
5y(y-5) -7(y-5) = 0
y =7/5, 5

7.Answer: 2. 110
Explanation:
250% of the total number of batsmen = 250% of 6 = 15
And 80% of the total number of all-rounders = 80% of 5 = 4
Total runs scored by batsmen = 6*15 = 90
Total runs scored by all-rounders = 5*4 = 20
Total = 110 runs

8.Explanation:
5 years ago, let the age of Ravi was 5x, age of Satyam = 4/5*5x = 4x
6 years hence, there age will be 5x+11 and 4x+11
According to question,
(4x+11) = 5/6* (5x+11)
24x +66 = 25x +55
X = 11
Present age of Ravi = 5x + 5 = 5*11 +5 = 60 years

9.Answer: 1) Rs. 500
Explanation:
Let the cost price of each Jar is Rs. 100x
Total CP = 200x
Since overall profit is 16%
Sum of SP of both the jars = 116% of 200x = 232x
SP of jar A = 118% of 100x = 118x
SP of jar B = 232x – 118x = 114x
Since jar B is sold at Rs. 70 more
114x -100x = 14x
14x = 70
X = 5
Cost price of jar A = 100*5 = Rs. 500

10.Answer: 4) 14
Explanation:
Let the total work is 28*45 = 1260
Work done by 35 men is x days = 35x
Work done by (35+15) men in 15(2/5) days = 50 * 77/5 = 770
Since the work is completed,
35x + 770 = 1260
X = 14

11.Let the initial amount of milk in the mixture is 7x, and initial amount of water in the mixture is 3x
Now, 80 litres will be removed in the ratio as 7:3
Milk removed will be 56 litres and water removed will be 24 litres
Milk left = 7x-56, water left = 3x -24
According to question,
7x – 56 – (3x-24) = 64
4x – 32 = 64
X = 24
Therefore, initial milk = 7x = 7*24 = 168 litres

12.Answer: 5) 64√3
Explanation:
Perimeter of Rectangle = 2*(L+B)
2*(L+B) = 74
L+B = 37
Also, breadth is 5 less than length (L = B+5)
B+5+B = 37
2B = 32
B = 16
Area of the equilateral triangle = ( √3 /4) * (side)2
= (√3 /4) * (16)2
=   64 √3 sq cm

13.Answer- 3) Either (l) alone or (ll) alone
Explanation- By using statement (l)
Amount after fourth year = 4007.15 × 4007.15/3500 = Rs 4587.78604
By using statement (ll)
By using this statement we can determine interest rate
(4287.6505 – 3745)/3745 × 100 = 14.49%
Clearly the rate of interest is 7% and with that we can easily calculate the amount after 4th year.

14.Answer- 2) Quantity 1 > quantity 2
Explanation-

Average speed of the bus = 2 × 25 × 35/ (25 + 35) = 175/6 km/h = quantity 1

Therefore, Quantity 1 > quantity 2

15.Answer- 4) 27
Explanation- Correct sequence is,
13
13 + 5 = 18
18 + (5 + 3) = 26
26 + (5 + 3 + 6) = 40
40 + (5 + 3 + 6 + 9) = 63
63 + (5 + 3 + 6 + 9 + 12) = 98
