SOLUTIONS:

Explanation
Number of Articles Sold by A in March = 120
Number of Articles Sold by C in May = 160
120/160 x 100 = 75 %

Explanation
A – total = 120+125+145+165 = 555
B – total = 140+145+154+175 = 614
614- 555= 59

Explanation
C in May and June = 160+185 = 345
D in March and April = 180 + 170 = 350
345/350 x 100 = 98.5

Explanation:
Total number of articles sold in May and June = 1364
Total number of articles sold in March and April = 1205
1364 – 1205 = 159

Explanation
170/160 = 17:16

Explanation- Since 16% of the candidates appear in written exam from Bihar and J&K together, 11% will appear from Bihar only (ratio of the candidates from Bihar and J&K is 11:5).
Percentage of candidates who will appear from Punjab and Haryana = 42/14 × 12 = 36% (ratio of candidates from Himachal, Punjab and Haryana is 2:7:5).
Percentage of candidates who appear from Delhi = 20%
Required number of candidates = 4400/11 × 56 = 400 × 56 = 22400 (36+20=56)

Explanation- Percentage of women who appear from Delhi and UP together = 20/20 × 9 + 22/11 × 5 = 9 + 10 = 19%
So, the total number of women who appear from Delhi and U.P. together = 4400/11 × 19 = 7600

Explanation- Since 35% of the total selections were from U.P. and 33% were from Delhi,
Required percentage = 2/35 × 100 = 40/7%
