SOLUTIONS

1. C) Distance between Jaipur to Goa = 1150
Distance between Pune to Goa = 1150-150=1000
Time taken = 1000/133.3=~7.5

2. D) Average time taken=12+8=20/2=10
Time taken to travel Jaipur – Goa=10 – 5=5
Speed =1150/5= 230 km/hr
3. D) speed of the train is not mentioned from Mumbai – Delhi.
So we cannot find average speed.

4. B) Total distance travelled by train from all the station = 1114×5=5570
Remaining Distance = 5570-2100 = 3470 km

5. B) Total time taken to travel form Mumbai to Pune = 8 hrs
Due to halt 20 mins for every 2hrs = 9 hrs to complete the journey
Distance between Mumbai to Pune= 950 + 450= 1400
speed = 1400/9= 155.5 km/hr

6. A) Number of teachers in Physics = 17/100 * 1800 = 306
Number of male teachers in Physics = 7/9 * 306 = 238
Number of teachers in Geography = 23/100 * 1800 = 414
% = 238 / 414 * 100 = 57%

7. B) Number of male teachers who teach Geography = 2/3 * 23/100 * 1800 = 276
Number of male teachers who teach History = 1/2 * 27/100 * 1800 = 243
% of female teachers who teach Biology = % of female teachers who teach Biology i.e 50%
Therefore Number of male teachers who teach Biology = 50/100 * 12/100 * 1800 = 108
Total = 276 + 243 + 108 = 627

8. C) Total number of teacher who teach History and Physics = 44% of 1800
Total number of teacher who teach Chemistry and Biology = 25% of 1800
Difference = 19% of 1800 = 342

9. D) Number of male teachers who teach Chemistry = 2/3 * 13/100 * 1800 =156
Number of female teachers who teach Biotechnology = 1/2 * 8/100 * 1800 =72
Ratio = 156 : 72 = 13 : 6

10. E) Total number of teacher who teach Chemistry = 234 + 117 = 351
Total number of teacher who teach Maths = 3/4 * 8% of 1800 = 108
Total number of Chemistry and Maths teachers together = 351 + 108 = 459
